Rocklin Community Service Day- Lone Tree Park, Rocklin CA.

This year for Rocklin Community Service Day I went out with our family and a friend and painted bollards at the Lone Tree Park in Rocklin.  We got the whole set done.  It was messy work, but it does look very nice since we did it.   I feel good about helping, and get to point it out every time we pass the park.

Creek Week- Secret Ravine, Roseville CA.

Daddy and Kaylee and I picked up one more project for Creek Week and went out and planted trees and helped clean the trail and creek area in Secret Ravine, Roseville.  It was nice that my sister Kaylee got to come along and help out with this one too.

Creek Week- Rocklin Community Garden, Rocklin CA.

Rocklin City had its community service day that happened to coincide with Creek Week.  This year we headed off to Lone Tree park and met up with local cub scouts to help on a Rotary project. We hunted for rocks and help place them in cement to create a drainage area for what will be a community garden.

Trail Maintenance - Hidden Falls, Auburn CA.

What a miserable rainy day to be out doing trail work.  Thank goodness Mom's and kids got the tree trimming detail while Dad went off to cut more trail.  Mom and I got to trim up tree growth and clear the weeds around the base to keep the fire danger low to the trees.  This way if a fire did come through, there wouldn't be small stuff to burn.   After we were done, we waited in the car for Dad for a while with our picnic lunch and dry clothes.  I was one pooped puppy when I got home and Mom snapped a shot of me and my dog crashed out on the couch.

Trail Maintenance - Sweetwater trail, Folsom CA.

This volunteer activity put us on the far side of the lake, and on a trail used by hikers and bikers alike.  We spend the day cutting back brush, removing obstacles and fixing washouts.  It was a good four hours, cool and breezy, and it was followed by lunch at grandmas!

Native Oak Woodland planting in Roseville.

Today we got up early in the rainy morning and helped the Sacramento Tree foundation plant 200 little oak trees in a Roseville park.  I only lasted about an hour before calling it quits and staying dry in the car.  Mom and Dad finished up the next hour without me.  (1 hour)

Rocklin Community Service Day- helping Rocklin with cleaning and landscaping the parks.

We met at the Fifth Street park, met the mayor and got our assignments.  Then we headed off to the new soon to be opening Rocklin Library and helped settle in all the new plants by putting them in holes, back filling with dirt and then putting on mulch.  The adults were using the wheelbarrows, so Mom and I decided to use the empty 5 gallon containers to gather and place mulch, the idea caught on quickly and the library was finished in a flash!  (about 3 hours)

Roseville Creek Week- helping Roseville with the creeks.

We met at the Roseville Mahaney Park creek with a bunch of Dad co-workers as well. We weeded, helped new planted trees and carted mulch all morning, then ate a well deserved pizza lunch! (about 3 hours)
